Imagine how bad off America would be if Barack Obama had a work ethic.
Do you ever think about that?
Two weeks ago, he was a guest on ESPN’s “The Herd.” It’s not a show I have the time to watch. In fact, there isn’t much television I have time to watch. I have businesses to run. I work 18 hours a day, six days a week because I believe in what I do and the employees who depend on me for their jobs.
What did he say on this show I’ve never seen?
“I spend most of my time watching ESPN in the morning,” said Obama. “I get so much politics; I don’t, you know, want to be inundated with a bunch of chatter about politics during the day. SportsCenter, when I work out in the morning, gives me a pretty good sense of what’s going on. I can’t sit down and watch an entire game, except maybe the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals. Or the World Series, I might be able to sit down and one day watch the whole game.”
No. 1, we already know Obama takes more vacations than any 50 families in America combined, right? And those outlandishly expensive vacations are paid for by you and me.
No. 2, we know he plays more golf than most pros. Do you think he pays for his golf outings? Of course not. We do.
Now we know he spends most of his mornings watching ESPN! While the rest of us are at work.
And he also conceded that he’s not spending the rest of his day governing, which he is paid to do. Instead he is practicing politics, which we all should have known anyway.
Now, frankly, I’m not really upset to find all this out. I’m relieved. Because, if this guy really worked at his job, we’d all be a lot worse off as a result.
I’d prefer he watched all the ball games. I prefer he golfed every day. I prefer he went on a permanent vacation.
The last thing I want him doing is working harder at destroying the very fabric of America. He does a good enough job at that working part-time.
It is a little infuriating, though, that he’s got such a soft lifestyle. Americans from coast to coast are suffering as a result of his policies. The joblessness and hopelessness is unprecedented in my lifetime. He’s got racial and ethnic groups at each other’s throats. He is about to drop sanctions against Iran, a nation whose leaders have vowed to destroy Israel and America with nuclear weapons, while he prepares to invoke sanctions against Israel for building homes in Jerusalem. He violates the Constitution without accountability. He uses the Internal Revenue Service to go after his enemies. He turns America upside down – and he does it all part-time.
You have to hand it to this guy.
He had no managerial experience before becoming president. How does he do it all without breaking a sweat?
The answer is, of course, he’s got lots of help – and not enough opposition!
The guy lives a charmed life.
And yet so many Americans still believe he’s sacrificing for them – he’s fighting for them. It’s hard to believe. But it’s true.
He doesn’t know anything about what it takes for ordinary Americans to make a living. How could he? He’s never had to worry about it. He’s never had to make payroll. He’s never had to live paycheck to paycheck.
All I can say is that I can’t wait until he has time to sit down and watch the whole game – all the games for that matter.
By my reckoning and the Obama clock you will find on the front page of WND every day, that is 755 days from now. It can’t come soon enough for me.
