Bernie Sanders supporters —the folks who say “yay socialism!” — are some of the most economically ignorant and annoying folks on the planet.
Every time I hear them speak some nonsense I just want to give them a big helping of my mind, to set them straight, to put them in their place.
Kind of like Fox Business host Stuart Varney just did.
“I really believe in his vision for the working class, expanding the middle class, and redistributing the income in this country,” Erin Bilbray, a Democratic superdelegate for Sanders, told Varney, who was visibly flustered.
“OK, alright, you’re going to take it off me and give it to somebody else. I got it. OK,” Varney said, seemingly frustrated.
“No, no, no, that’s not what I’m saying,” Bilbray replied.
“He is going to take it off me. I already pay 60 percent of my income in taxes, and he wants more. Please, don’t confuse the issue, he is going to take it off me and give it to somebody else. If you think that’s OK, that’s fine with me. I don’t. Let me move on,” Varney continued.
“I’ve got two young daughters, and I know their college is going to be paid for,” she said. “And so I’m very happy about that.”
“OK. I’ve got six kids, nine grandchildren, and I don’t like paying 60 percent of my income in taxes, and I’m damned if I’m going to pay any more,” Varney shot back.
“Do you think it’s moral that I, as the father of six, grandparent of nine, 67 years old, works five or six days a week, 12 hours every day, you think it’s moral for me to lose 6 cents on every 10 cents that I earn? And Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton want more. Explain the morality of that, will you?” Varney inquired.
See what I mean?
Sanders’ supporters are totally cuckoo.
Paying 60 percent of one’s income to the government is beyond insane, and our Founders would be rolling in their graves if they knew how we were basically undoing all of the hard work they fought, bled, and died for.
This rate of taxation, and that proposed by Sanders, for the sake of redistribution, is theft. Pure and simple.
And we are not talking about billionaires. Bernie is raising taxes on the middle class.
It’s the removal of one’s private property — money — by force from an outside authority in order to give it to someone who has not earned it.
There’s no moral justification for socialism. It’s sinful, wicked, and downright evil.
The Bible says “Thou shalt not steal.” The Democrat Party adds, “. . .except by majority vote.”
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.” Dr. Adrian Rogers, Pastor Bellevue Baptist Church
